Health calculators and utilities

Three simple estimators for metabolism, hydration and sleep timing. Each shows its assumptions and none replaces professional advice.

  • Metabolic Score Estimator
  • Daily Hydration Planner
  • Sleep Cycle Optimizer

Metabolic Score Estimator

Uses imperial units. Produces a BMI-style indicator, waist-to-height ratio and an energy estimate.

Daily Hydration Planner

Hydration needs vary. This gives a general range for total daily fluid.

Sleep Cycle Optimizer

Suggests a sleep window and scores your timing habits. It does not assess sleep disorders.

How Betterhealth tools estimate results

  • Simplified formulas. BMI uses weight and height. Energy use uses the Mifflin-St Jeor equation times an activity factor. Hydration scales with body weight, activity, exercise time and heat. Sleep subtracts duration and about 15 minutes from your wake time.
  • Your inputs. Results are only as accurate as the numbers you enter.
  • Assumptions. The tools assume a healthy adult and average conditions.
  • Limitations. They are not clinical measurements and have not been clinically validated.

Why health numbers need context

One measurement cannot describe a whole person. BMI ignores muscle and fat distribution, and hydration needs change by climate and diet. Numbers are most useful when viewed alongside trends, how you feel, family history and the judgment of a qualified healthcare professional.
